Sarah Sweetheart

Sarah Sweetheart is the latest addition to The Original Sweethearts collection. Sarah was a bride of mine last year and she decided to surprise her hubby, Ben with a beautiful album of Sweetheart images for their one year anniversary on June 12th! Below are a few of the less risque images from the Sweetheart session. Now I am all about “classy not trashy”, so lingerie can be photographed in a classic way to increase the hubby wow factor (and for his eyes only, not to display all over the internet, lol!). Underneath the Sweetheart images are a few of my favorite photos of Sarah and Ben on their wedding day after Sarah removed her veil (and did a quick change with her hair-love the side pony tail!) and Ben changed into his more casual reception attire.

Sarah’s wedding decor and colors consisted of peacock feathers and the colors purple and teal. She hand designed her vintage inspired invitations and her isle runner for the ceremony! A gift to her bridesmaids were beautiful unique peacock rings. On the wedding day, Ben and Sarah made their grand exit from ceremony to the reception in a white vintage car owned by Sarah’s father (we also used the car as a photo prop for the images of the couple alone, seen below). When I was thinking of ideas for Sarah’s Sweetheart portrait, I was inspired by her love of vintage transportation and decided on a Italian Vespa theme using her favorite color purple as the backdrop.

Because Sarah’s hair is long and lux, Kandice and I chose a classic vintage do (typically this style requires a hair styling device called a rat, yes a rat, to hold the hair in front that simulates bangs). Kandice once again is the queen of vintage hair and lighting guru Johnny Davis was on hand to help me with the fab lighting for the images. One of my favorite clothing stores, Design Archives recently moved right around the corner from my studio (on elm street across from Green Bean Coffee). After I applied Sarah’s makeup and Kandice finished with hairstyling, we all walked around the corner to Design Archives to choose the vintage clothing that we used for the session.  Happy Anniversary Sarah & Ben!
