In my last post I talked about the gratitude that I feel for having such wonderful clients. Talk about gratitude, I was hired by Ninosha and Brandon to come and photograph their wedding in Saint John! To say the least, it was an amazing experience.
Ninoshka, an art teacher at Greensboro Day School found my website and contacted me about photographing her wedding (at first she was planning for the wedding to take place in Sunset Beach, NC). After our first contact by phone and through emailing we figured out that her fiance Brandon and my husband Jason went to elementary and middle school together! We also figured out that we had many other friends in common. When planning for a large wedding in NC proved to be stressful for the couple, an intimate destination wedding started to look like a great plan.
Jason, Elias and I packed up our bags and left for the islands. We were treated like family members by both Ninoshka and Brandon’s families. I wanted to give the couple a gift for including me in their destination plans, a pre wedding engagement session on the beach in Saint John. The first photographs in this slideshow post are from that photo session (followed by wedding day images).
The details were simple and elegant, perfect for an intimate, laid back island wedding. Being an artist, Ninoshka actually MADE her unique bridesmaids flower arrangements. The mid-afternoon beach ceremony was incredible, filled with emotion and love. In the ceremony images below you will see that Ninoska chose to include both her biological father and her step father to participate in walking her down the isle. A family of Iguanas kept watch over the celebration that took place in a tent with an incredible view of the beach and Westin hotel gardens. After spending a few days in Saint John, the couple enjoyed their honeymoon in Puerto Rico! A reception celebration was thrown for the couple this winter by their close friends in Greensboro. Jason and I were honored to join in the celebration as guests and had an incredible time! Enjoy these warm weather photos in a time when all of us are ready for spring to arrive!
