Rebecca & Jake

Becca & Jake met at a summer camp where they both worked in 2003. They lost touch and then ran into each other again at a Auburn football game (Jake’s alma mater) and realized that they were both living in NC. They exchanged phone numbers and the rest was history. Seems to be a reoccuring theme in most love stories (the right timing!).

The wedding ceremony took place in Durham at Pilgrim United Church of Christ followed by a gorgeous reception at Bay 7 in the american tobacco historic district. Rebecca’s mother walked her down the isle. The traditional Jewish ceremony custom of stomping the glass (breaking of the glass symbolizes a mix of joy and pain in life) was done by Jake to honor Rebecca’s father who was of Jewish faith. Rebecca paired unique pink shoes with a pink bouquet and the bridesmaids carried bouquets in white.

The white flower centerpieces at the reception were incredible with vases in every size. There was a groom’s cake decorated to look like a mailbox (the name of Jake’s dog) and it really did, I had no idea that it was a cake! Rebecca and Jake are wine connoisseurs, their place holders for guests were wine corks from some of  their favorite vintages. There were many touching toasts including a toast with a game for Rebecca and Jake given by some of Rebecca’s girl friends. Dancing was the theme of the night and Jake received a few dancing lessons from Becca’s family that traveled to the wedding from Columbia, South America. As always it was a pleasure to work with Johnny Davis as my second photographer.
